Stanford gives contract extension to Johnny Dawkins

I am very excited about the future of our basketball program,

  • The Cardinal has not made an NCAA tournament appearance during Dawkins' tenure and has had three consecutive losing seasons in conference play as crowds have waned at Maples Pavilion
  • Financial terms were not disclosed
  • Our team is young but very talented, and I am confident of the growth and maturation in the years ahead
  • "Johnny and his staff have recruited very well and are on the brink of some very fun years ahead
