Portland firefighters commemorated on historic anniversary
Campbell, known to many Portlanders as "Our Dave," was so beloved that his funeral procession drew 150,000 people
On June 26, 1911, all of Portland’s firefighters were called to a massive fire at Union Oil Company, on SE Water Street
A hundred years later, it is still the single largest funeral procession in Portland's history
Fire Chief David Campbell was killed in the blaze
Campbell was also remembered with a ceremony at his grave in River View Cemetery
